EVOLUTION™ from Swiss-Shield® is a semi-transparent fabric made from Trevira® for HF shielding of radio emissions from WLAN, mobile communications, DECT, etc.. The integrated lead strip means that it is typically used as a naturally falling curtain fabric or as a canopy. The well thought-out combination of copper and silver ensures shielding attenuation of up to 31 dB. Electrically non-conductive and therefore cannot be grounded for LF!

The EVOLUTION™ shielding fabric is among the most attractive shielding fabrics and, with its integrated lead tape, is perfect for curtains and canopies as well. Because the woven, radio-reflecting copper and silver threads are insulated for protection, there is no oxidation with oxygen and, as a result, the EVOLUTION shielding fabric’s color does not fade with time. The curtain or canopy equipped with the EVOLUTION™ will stay there in its natural WHITE color for years.

Trevira® is integrated into the EVOLUTION™ shielding fabric, which gives it a crease-free effect. Along with the sewn on lead tape, it is simply a great combination of appearance and effect. This shielding fabric is a half-transparent cotton wool fabric for protection from high-frequency electromagnetic fields (HF) from transmission masts and private devices such as cell phones, smartphones, WLAN routers, mobile LTE Internet, etc. It should be noted, however, that this shielding fabric cannot be earthed. EVOLUTION™ is not electrically conductive, so protection provided by reflecting invading mobile radiation is limited.

The EVOLUTION™ shielding fabric is made out of a special polyester tissue. This tissue is made out of 91% polyester (Trevira), 8.5% copper, and 0.5% silver and reaches attenuation values of up to 31 dB.

Use and assets of the EVOLUTION™

Ideally, the EVOLUTION™ needs to be used for curtains and canopies because of its transparency.

The convincing properties of the EVOLUTION™ shielding fabric are:

  • Crease-free through Trevira®
  • Textile properties: washable, can be ironed, can be sewn
  • Quality grading: very high

Please note: if you also need protection from low-frequency electric fields, you will need complementary methods, such as shielding paints, to achieve this.

Shielding fabric EVOLUTION™ for anti EMF electrosmog canopies

With a focus on building biology in the future, we recommend that you choose our shielding fabric SILVER TULLE when you plan to use EVOLUTION as a canopy (despite the optical disadvantage). Even if EVOLUTION is still sufficient to start 5G in terms of shielding attenuation, there is a significant drop in reflective power / shielding performance already far below 10 GHz. EVOLUTION two-layered is not an option for the canopy due to insufficient air circulation, air supply and corresponding heat accumulation in summer. However, as a two-layer curtain NATURELL remains effective and visually very attractive – just like our alternative white screening fabric ULTIMA.
