The SAFEBUILD® U230 is a highly advanced underlay membrane specifically designed for maximum protection against electromagnetic fields. The shieldingShielding is the protection from the effects of external fault zones and environmental influences (on a person's health most of the time). More material consists of a four-layer membrane structure, including a micro-perforated aluminium foil. With 200.000 tiny holes per square meter, this shielding underlay membrane is highly permeable to water vapour while simultaneously providing an impressive shielding attenuation value of 111 dB. This unique micro-perforation was a key component in developing this innovative shielding technology and does not affect the shielding attenuation, meaning the electromagnetic shielding remains effective.
Unusually for this type of product, there is a deviation from the standard width of 150 cm. SAFEBUILD® U230 has a width of 90 cm, allowing the shielding underlay membrane to be used worldwide without high bulky item shipping costs. For the customer, this means faster and significantly cheaper transport.
In addition to the extraordinarily high shielding of RF high-frequency electromagnetic fields (HF), the underlay is also very suitable for shielding low-frequency electric alternating fields (LF) (groundingGrounding is an electrically conductive connection with the electric potential of the ground. Application and Capabilities of SAFEBUILD® U230
EMF High Performance for Indoor and Outdoor Use
SAFEBUILD® U230 excels with its universal applicability for both outdoor and indoor use, including roofs, facades, and drywall.
Due to these versatile applications, the membrane optimises the windproofing of the construction and stops rain. The aluminium foil protects against the ingress of warm air in summer and cold air in winter.
Grounding of SAFEBUILD® U230
This product with an electrically conductive surface must be grounded by integrating it into the functional equipotential bonding (FEB). See the grounding product category for suitable components. For this product, the aluminium side must be grounded, i.e., our grounding tape GSX must be adhered to the silver side!

Installation of Shielding Underlay SAFEBUILD® U230
The proper installation of a diffusion-open, waterproof, and reflective membrane for roofs, facades, and drywall is well-documented in professional circles and is mastered by craftsmen, planners, and architects. For optimal shielding results, the membranes should be laid overlapping and without gaps, while keeping fastening holes to a minimum.
