Grounding a shield is mandatory based on Faraday’s law!
This 10-meter-long metal tape is mandatory to ground GPA shielding mesh. This is essential if the aim is to build a Faraday cage.
GPA mesh and the metal grounding tape are used predominantly in shell construction outside and inside.
Grounding with the metal tape
The metal tape is an effective way to quickly earth a surface comprehensively. In-house construction, the GPA shielding mesh is attached vertically from the roof to the floor. As soon as that is done, the metal tape is attached horizontally across the length of the wall or around the house on one plane. Commercial screws can be used to fix the metal tape to the GPA mesh.
When applying the metal tape on the GPA mesh, make sure that there are no loose spaces. Ideally, a screw is fixed every 20 centimeters.
Ideally, each wall shielded with GPA should be grounded. If that is not necessary, at least two contact points should be taken care of. Two contact points in order to increase safety in case of a possible corrosion of one or both earth contact points. The earth can even be put directly on the earth of the power supply or coupled with the lightning conductor on the roof.
