Talking about SUGAR*. It is understandable in terms of good taste, yet we simply can not accept classic sugar or artificial sweetener in a toothpaste. Fluorine or fluoride in the toothpaste are the one topic that has already been written a lot. But sugar in toothpaste is just such a contradiction – at first. It actually needs some flavor in the toothpaste so that you also like to apply it and we have decided here instead of the classic sugar or artificial sweetener for essential oils and birch sugar, also known as xylitol (xylitol). But beware – xylitol is not automatically birch sugar. Of birch sugar may only be spoken if this is obtained from birch bark and book bark, everything else is xylitol and must not bear the name birch sugar.

XYLITOL FOR TEETH, GUMS AND BONE

Used regularly, the effect of xylitol is several times positive: dissolves xylitol in the mouth, it promotes salivation. Saliva contains a lot of calcium phosphate, which is responsible for the formation and hardening of enamel. In addition, the saliva dilutes acids in the oral cavity. This increases the pH and protects the teeth, because low pH levels are essential for the caries-causing bacteria to attach to the teeth. Only in an acidic environment (pH 4 – 5) caries bacteria (Streptococcus mutans) clump together, attach themselves to the teeth and form there a harmful plaque. NO PLAQUE – NO CARIES.

We deliberately chose the expensive birch sugar because we want to use the highest quality and purely natural variant of xylitol. In addition to the above reasons, birch sugar (xylitol) has antibacterial properties ie. the development of caries is actively inhibited. The presence of xylitol prevents the bacteria from metabolizing sugars and other carbohydrates that can be used by them into tooth-damaged lactic acid. Therefore always remember: Consuming foods and drinks that contain xylitol instead of sugar helps maintain tooth mineralization.
