The Stone pine is only native to the Central European mountains. Its natural occurrence is limited to the subalpine zone. Its lower distribution boundary is at 1,500-1,600 m, its high boundary is at 2,300 (2,400 m) in the warmer, southern alpine regions and at 1,800 (2,000 m) in the cooler, northern and eastern areas.
It has a positive effect on the heart and our sleep.
According to a study by Joanneum Research in Weiz (Graz/Austria), the valuable Stone pine wood that has been appreciated for centuries has a particularly positive effect on circulation, sleeping experience and vegetative regulation. It improves the deep-sleep phase, causes a lower heart rate, stabilizes meteoropathy, is bacteriostatic and antibacterial. By resting enough in the night, the heart rate is lower during the day and beats approx. 3,500 times less, which is about one hour of “heart work” per day.
